Full time Receptionist/Client Care Representative
This is an exceptional opportunity for an organized and motivated individual to join us in a very important support role for the entire hospital. In this role you will help our clients and their pets feel welcomed and appreciated!
Responsibilities:
- Create a friendly and welcoming environment for our clients and patients
- Handling patients safely and kindly
- Assisting veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments when required
- Placing calls to clients for rechecks and follow ups as per our doctors as well as relaying procedure instructions
- Book and schedule appointments appropriately
- Ability to answer a multi-line phone system and maintain hold lines
- Respond to and manage email correspondence effectively and efficiently (booking appointments, taking clients orders, managing patient records)
- Admitting and discharging patients for surgery/day procedures
- Creating invoices and processing payments
- Maintaining a clean work environment (cleaning and disinfecting rooms in between patients, keeping the front end clean and helping with cleaning tasks in treatment areas)
Requirements:
- Excellent customer service skills; an ability to put the customer first and create a friendly and welcoming rapport with customers
- Excellent ability to work as a team with other client care specialists and the rest of the veterinary team
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage tasks appropriately
- An aptitude for detail orientation
- Prior experience in customer service
- Positive attitude and desire to learn & grow with our company
- Strong ability to handle change and be adaptable to new situations
- Exceptional time management skills

Full/Part time Registered Veterinary Technician
The Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) is responsible for providing positive and professional assistance to clinic’s veterinarians. The position interacts with the clinic’s patients and clients, providing excellent animal care and customer service through strong communication skills and sound judgment. The position works seamlessly with other members of the clinic team to ensure that the daily operations of patient care is effectively and efficiently completed each day.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to our patients
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Perform laboratory tests and analyze samples
- Take X-rays
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Monitor animals during recovery from surgery or illness
- Provide basic grooming services, such as bathing and nail trimming
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and nutrition
Requirements:
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) Diploma from a credited institution in good standing with the ABVMA
- Passed the VTNE or will soon be passing the VTNE
- Good standing with the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association
- Experience working as a veterinary technician preferred but new graduates will be considered
- Knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and veterinary staff
- Compassion and empathy for animals in distress
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
